Data connection
Data Connections enable seamless integration of external data sources and sinks into Rollup, keeping your workflows up-to-date and connected to critical project data.
Overview
The Data Connections feature in Rollup provides users with the ability to create and manage Data Sources and Data Sinks, enabling seamless integration of external data streams into Rollup. This functionality allows users to import live data from third-party applications, ensuring that project information remains up-to-date and readily accessible within workflows. With Data Connections, teams can enhance their collaborative processes by linking critical data directly to project milestones, improving alignment and visibility throughout the project lifecycle.
Data Connections empower users to:
Create Data Sources and Data Sinks that link directly to Rollup’s integrations, making it easy to pull data from external systems into Rollup or export data from Rollup to other tools.
Maintain real-time data accuracy by automating updates from integrated sources, reducing the need for manual data entry and ensuring project teams have access to the latest information.
Streamline project alignment by connecting external data sources to specific milestones and workflows in Rollup, enabling users to manage data alongside key project phases.
Key Objectives
The goal of Data Connections is to allow users to manage data integrations within Rollup, including creating Data Sources and Data Sinks that pull in or push out data from third-party tools. This keeps data integrated within the Rollup environment and directly tied to actionable workflows.
Supported Integrations
Data Connections support a range of third-party integrations to enhance workflow capabilities:
Google Workspace: Import and manage data from Google Sheets.
Cloud simulation: Access simulation data.
OnShape: Connect to product data sheets.
These integrations provide users with flexibility to connect the tools they use daily, making it easier to keep Rollup projects aligned with external resources.
